Neeraj Chopra is a 23year old Soldier of the Indian army, Hailing from Haryana. Subedar with 4 Rajputana Rifles in the Indian army, is the first athlete representing India to have won gold in the javelin throw at both the Commonwealth Games and the Asian Games. After a wait of 13 years, Neeraj Chopra becomes the second gold medalist in the Olympics after Abhinav Bindra in 2008 in the category of shooting. This is a historic event as Neeraj Chopra is the second individual player to represent India and win a gold medal. Neeraj Chopra secured the top position in the Javelin throw with a majestic throw of 87.58 Meters.

He was born in born 24 December 1997 and finished his graduations from Dayanand Anglo-Vedic College in Chandigarh. In 2016, he was appointed a Junior Commissioned Officer in the Indian Army with the rank of Naib Subedar. Neeraj holds a record of having numerous achievements, some under the age of 20. Now, that is breath takings. Neeraj had won a gold medal at the 2016 South Asian Games with a throw of 84.23 m held in Guwahati, India. He also won gold at the 2016 World U20 Championships in Poland.
In 2017 Asian Championships in Bhuwaneshwar, and Commonwealth Games in Gold Coast, Australia.
2018, he won gold in Sotteville Athletics Meet and Savo Games.
In honor of Neeraj Chopra winning gold and elevating the name of India in Olympics 2020, he will be honored with a sum amount of
₹75 lakh from the Government of India, an amount of ₹6 crores from the Government of Haryana, ₹ 2 crores from the Government of Punjab, ₹ 1 crore from the Government of Manipur, ₹ 1 crore from the Board of Control for Cricket in India and₹ 1 crore from Chennai Super Kings.
